Online Seminar on Metro Management and Service for Bangladesh kicks off

On the morning of March 10, the School of Traffic and Transportation of Beijing Jiaotong University held the opening ceremony of the Online Seminar on Metro Management and Service for Bangladesh electronically. Guan Zhongliang, vice president of Beijing Jiaotong University, Nie Lei, dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation, Bi Fei, deputy director of the Office of International Affairs, Liu Xiaofang, vice dean of the College of International Education and other guests showed up at the opening ceremony. Bai Yun, vice dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation, presided over the opening ceremony.

On behalf of the School, Guan Zhongliang extended his warm welcome to the Bangladeshi students who are going to participate in the Seminar, and introduced them to the disciplinary advantages and school running history of the School in the field of transportation. Since the Belt and Road initiative was lunched, Beijing Jiaotong University has been working with Bangladesh, a long-term friendly neighbor of China, and has trained a number of international talents in the field of transportation and operation management. The Seminar takes the form of online learning and exchange. It is expected that the students will have an in-depth understanding of China's metro management and service experience, and gain a more intuitive understanding of the rail transit development of China through "cloud visit", so as to be able to apply the knowledge and achievements learned in the construction and operation of Bangladesh metro, and further promote the cooperation and exchange in the field of transportation between China and Bangladesh.

Muhammad Abdul Ruff, secretary of Bangladesh Metro Corporation, delivered a speech on behalf of the participants. He extended his sincere gratitude to Beijing Jiaotong University for the careful arrangement of online courses and cloud visits for the Seminar. He said that the Seminar is an important learning and exchange opportunity, and plays an important role in promoting the development of Bangladesh metro and the exchanges between China and Bangladesh. He expressed his hope to learn more about the development experience of metro in China, promote friendly exchanges and continue with the friendly relations between the two countries.

At last, the guests at the opening ceremony had an online group photo taken with the participants of the Seminar. The Seminar will further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between China and Bangladesh and promote the internationalization of our education.
