Online closing ceremony of Bangladesh Road Transportation Safety and Traffic Management Seminar, 2021 foreign aid training program of the Ministry of Commerce, successfully held

On the afternoon of December 14, the online closing ceremony of Bangladesh Road Transportation Safety and Traffic Management Seminar, 2021 foreign aid training program of the Ministry of Commerce organized by our university was held in conference room 8617 of the School of Traffic and Transportation. Nie Lei, President of School of Traffic and Transportation, and Yue Rui, Teacher of School of Traffic and Transportation attended the closing ceremony. Liu Xiaofang, Vice President of the College of International Education, presided over the closing ceremony.

Nie Lei, President of School of Traffic and Transportation, delivered a speech as the representative of the professors of Beijing Jiaotong University, the project implementation unit. She affirmed the holding of the seminar and extended warm congratulations to all trainees who successfully completed the course! During the two weeks, 10 lectures and 5 visits were carried out smoothly and orderly. The instructors introduced to the trainees the current national conditions of China, poverty alleviation and experience in fighting the epidemic, as well as systematically explained the professional knowledge of urban road transportation, involving the urban overall planning and detailed planning practice cases, regional and urban transportation system planning, traffic management and control, urban public transport, urban comprehensive transportation development and land utilization, driving behavior analysis, traffic emergency treatment, intelligent transportation system, sustainable transport and environment protection. During the seminar, featured activities such as "cloud visit" to Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, DiDi Global Inc. and Beijing MTR Corporation Limited were interspersed to make each trainee deeply understand the current situation of China's urban planning and see the rapid development of China's urban road transportation and urban rail transit. These live lessons enabled trainees from different countries to have a comprehensive and systematic understanding of China, Beijing and Beijing Jiaotong University. She expressed warm welcome to all trainees to come to China for field learning and visit after the end of COVID-19.

Mr. Sitangshu Biswas, director of Engineering Department of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, delivered a speech on behalf of all trainees, sharing what he had learned from the seminar. Sitangshu Biswas said he benefited a lot from the two-week live lessons. The instructors gave lessons carefully, meticulously and professionally, and China's urban transportation modernization technology and future development plan made him feel the growing strength of China's road transportation industry. What impressed him most was that, through the live activities, he made a cloud visit to the Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and had a full understanding of Beijing's urban planning, and by means of cloud visits to the Forbidden City and Tian’anmen, he appreciated the extensiveness and profoundness of Chinese culture and had a strong interest in Chinese traditional culture.

After the speech, President Nie Lei, Vice President Liu Xiaofang and Teacher Yue Rui issued the certificate of completion to all trainees online. In the end, all the guests present at the closing ceremony took online group photos with all the trainees of the seminar.

The successful holding of Bangladesh Road Transportation Safety and Traffic Management Seminar will further promote the exchanges and cooperation between China and Bangladesh, as well as accelerate the internationalization of education of our university.
