On December 19, 2021, the Eleventh Beijing Competition of Transport Science and Technology of Students sponsored by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and undertaken by Beijing Jiaotong University was successfully held. The School of Traffic and Transportation is responsible for organization of the competition.
The competition is held once a year and is open to students in all colleges and universities in Beijing, which aims to cultivate college students' scientific and technological innovation spirit and ability of practical, so as to improve their scientific literacy and research skills. The competition has been successfully held for 11 times since 2011, which has attracted many scientific and technological teams of college students, and a large number of excellent scientific research achievements have emerged.
With the theme of "Intelligent Transportation Facilitates Scientific & Technological Winter Olympics", this competition shows the concerns and thoughts of contemporary college students from the aspects of intelligent transportation construction, traffic organization service and safety emergency dispatching, combined with the traffic development of the capital city and the actual needs of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and winter Paralympic Games. After the selection and recommendation of colleges and universities and the preliminary evaluation of the competition jury, a total of 19 works from 8 colleges and universities including North China University of Technology, Beijing University Of Technology, Beijing University Of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing Union University, Capital University Of Economics And Business, and People's Public Security University of China stood out and entered the finals. The entries involve hot spots and problems in the field of transportation during the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games, such as traffic operation analysis and optimization, new vehicles, intelligent epidemic prevention equipment, etc., and put forward a series of innovative and feasible solutions and research results.
