On December 30, 2021, Liu Yanqing, President of the College of International Education, Tan Jie and Liu Xiaofang, vice presidents of the College, visited and investigated our School. Yao Enjian, Secretary of the Party committee of the School of Traffic and Transportation, Nie Lei, President, Li Tao, deputy secretary of the Party committee, Bai Yun, vice president, and others attended the meeting.
First of all, on behalf of the School, Yao Enjian extended a warm welcome to the visiting Liu Yanqing and his delegation and thanked the College of International Education for its long-term support for internationalization construction of the School. He said that internationalization is an important aspect of accelerating the construction of first-class disciplines and first-class universities, and we have always attached great importance to the recruitment and training of international students. Nie Lei reviewed the basic situation of the training of international students in China in recent years. She stressed that, as the training base of railway professionals in the past century, the School is gradually forming a multi-dimensional and multi-mode transportation international talent training system relying on educational resources and disciplinary advantages.
President Liu Yanqing introduced the key work of the University for foreign students in China, the education program of the Ministry of Commerce and the short-term foreign-related training program. She fully affirmed the effectiveness of the School of Traffic and Transportation in the training of foreign students in China in recent years, and expressed the hope that the School can summarize the existing experience, optimize the education program training system and improve the training effect of studying in China. In addition, in the future, the College of International Education will cooperate with the School of Traffic and Transportation to carry out pilot projects for convergence and integration, and implement the convergence management system focusing on education, teaching and coordinated promotion of other aspects.
Li Tao, deputy secretary of the Party committee, and Bai Yun, vice president of the School, respectively had in-depth exchanges with Tan Jie and Liu Xiaofang, vice presidents of the College of International Education, focusing on the work contents such as the demand for studying in China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the convergence management innovation attempt of undergraduates, the enrollment of graduate students in systems science, short-term exchange students and foreign-related training.
The visit pointed out the direction, defined the objectives and opened up the ideas of talent training for the promotion of international talent education during the "14th Five-Year Plan" of our School. The School of Traffic and Transportation will continue to promote the high-quality construction of the international talent training system, constantly explore new ideas, new measures and new mechanisms for international talent training, facilitating the high-quality development of the University and the School in studying in China.
