Faculty and Students from BJTU School of Traffic and Transportation Attend RailDresden2025 International Academic Conference

From April 1st to 4th, 2025, the 11th International Conference on Railway Operations Modelling and Analysis (ICROMA 2025), also known as RailDresden2025, was held in Dresden, Germany. The ICROMA conference is organized biennially by the International Association of Railway Operations Research (IAROR). It aims to bring together experts from academia and industry, integrating cutting-edge research from multiple disciplines, including engineering, mathematics, and computer science to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for railway operations management and traffic organization.

As one of the most influential academic gatherings in the global field of rail transit operations research, this year's conference attracted experts from both academia and industry worldwide. BJTU School of Traffic and Transportation organized a delegation of dozens of faculty members and students to attend the conference. They actively participated in various activities, including paper presentations, poster sessions, and the bidding process for a future conference.

During the conference, faculty and students from the School shared their latest research findings through 13 paper presentations and 5 poster displays, fully demonstrating Beijing Jiaotong University's academic strength and international influence in railway-related research fields.

In the highly anticipated bidding session for the 12th ICROMA conference, Beijing Jiaotong University, jointly with Tongji University and Southwest Jiaotong University, presented the RailSanya2027 bid proposal. The Chinese team comprehensively showcased their academic organizational capabilities, foundation for international cooperation, and the locational advantages of Sanya. Ultimately, the Chinese team successfully won the bid to host the 12th International Conference on Railway Operations Modelling and Analysis (ICROMA 2027).

This successful participation and conference bid not only highlights the influence of Beijing Jiaotong University and other Chinese institutions in the field of rail transit but also establishes a significant platform for deepening global academic collaboration in railway operations research. Hosting ICROMA 2027 in Sanya will facilitate exchanges between China and countries along the "Belt and Road" in areas such as railway technical standards and intelligent development, injecting more Chinese wisdom into global sustainable transportation development.
