Department of Logistics Engineering

The Department of Logistics Engineering was established in December 2012. Leveraging the distinctive disciplinary strengths of our college in transportation and logistics engineering, it aims to cultivate elite professionals, conduct scientific research, and provide technical services for the rapid development of China's logistics industry. The department boasts a group of senior and renowned professors with profound academic expertise and significant social influence in the field of modern logistics, who have made outstanding contributions to the industry's development. The current faculty consists of 12 members: 4 professors, 6 associate professors and 2 lecturers in faculty development. Among them, there is 1 recipient of the Beijing Municipal Teaching Master Award and 1 recipient of the Beijing Municipal Higher Education Young Teaching Master Award. The department has 6 doctoral supervisors and 10 master's supervisors. Eleven faculty members hold doctoral degrees.

The Department of Logistics Engineering is primarily responsible for the undergraduate program in Logistics Engineering and the cultivation of master's and doctoral students in disciplines such as Logistics Engineering and Management, Transportation Planning and Management, Transportation, and Control Science and Engineering. It has trained a group of outstanding management and technical talents for the modern logistics and transportation industries, earning high social recognition.

The department's research areas encompass logistics development strategy and planning, logistics node planning and design, logistics system analysis and integration, supply chain design and management, railway freight and logistics, multimodal transport and logistics system optimization, smart logistics and green logistics, and express freight organization optimization. In recent years, it has led hundreds of research projects commissioned by national ministries, provincial and municipal authorities, and enterprises. The department has received dozens of provincial/ministerial-level or above awards for science and technology, published hundreds of high-level academic papers, obtained dozens of patents and software copyrights, and published dozens of academic monographs, achieving abundant scientific research outcomes.
