BJTU & TU Delft Joint Program in Traffic and Transportation is jointly offered by the School of Traffic and Transportation at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). It is the first joint bachelor’s program in Traffic and Transportation approved by Ministry of Education, China among universities in Beijing [MOE Approval No. JWZH [2017] 5]. Each year, the program admits 60 students nationwide through China’s unified university admission process.
BJTU Traffic and Transportation major has a profound academic heritage and is one of BJTU’s oldest, most distinctive, and strongest disciplines. Its partner, TU Delft, widely known as the “MIT of Europe,” consistently ranks among the top three universities worldwide in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, and other disciplines in the QS World University Rankings (2022–2024).
Building on the long-standing academic strengths and research foundations of both universities in the field of transportation, the program integrates internationally advanced concepts to develop a systematic and interdisciplinary curriculum. It emphasizes the deep integration of artificial intelligence technologies with transportation systems, while focusing on fundamental competencies, innovation awareness, and engineering practice. The program is committed to cultivating future transportation leaders equipped with cross-cultural communication skills, strong innovative potential, global perspectives, and international competitiveness.
