Seminar on Sustainable Urban Transport Development and Construction under Global Development Initiatives Successfully Concludes

On the morning of July 21, the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Sustainable Urban Transport Development and Construction under Global Development Initiatives, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by our university, was successfully held in Room 1201, Science and Technology Building. Meng Lingyun, Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation, and Tan Jie, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Tang Yuanjie, Vice Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation.

At the closing ceremony, Dean Meng Lingyun delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He summarized the achievements of this seminar and extended his congratulations to the officials for their successful completion. He pointed out that this seminar was an important practice in implementing the Global Development Initiative. By sharing China's advanced experience in the field of sustainable urban transport, it comprehensively showcased China's achievements in green transport planning, smart logistics, digital innovation, and other areas, providing valuable references for participating countries. He expressed his hope that the participants would apply the knowledge gained to their own national practices and become a key force in promoting global sustainable transport development.

Six participants, including Mr. Kujabi Seckou from Gambia, Mr. Adebambo David Oluwole from Nigeria, Mr. Yey Sovann from Cambodia, Ms. Almajali Ruba Hatem Khraiwish from Jordan, Mr. Kuan Sai Hong from Malaysia, and Ms. Aishath Rayyan Ibrahim from Maldives, spoke at the ceremony, recalling their memorable experiences during the seminar. They unanimously expressed that they had gained a deep understanding of China's innovations and accomplishments in sustainable transport, broadened their professional perspectives, and deepened their understanding of Chinese culture. They stated they would return home with the friendship of the Chinese people and the advanced experience acquired, contributing to the development of their own countries' transport sectors.

During the ceremony, Dean Meng Lingyun and Vice Dean Tan Jie jointly presented completion certificates and commemorative gifts to the participants.

 

This 14-day seminar was attended by 35 participants from nine countries: Cambodia, Cuba, Gambia, Grenada, Malaysia, Maldives, Nigeria, Tajikistan, and Jordan. Through thematic lectures, site visits, and technical discussions, the seminar facilitated the sharing of experiences and cooperation in the field of sustainable urban transport among nations, achieving positive training outcomes.
