
On the morning of June 12, the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Rail Transport for Belt and Road Initiative Partner Countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by our university, was successfully held in Room 1201 of the Science and Technology Building. Liu Xiaofang, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, and Bai Yun, Vice Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation, attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Tang Yuanjie, Vice Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation.

At the ceremony, Vice Dean Bai Yun delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He summarized the achievements of the seminar and extended congratulations to the participants for their successfully completing the seminar. He emphasized that the seminar served as a concrete practice in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, providing valuable insights for railway transport development in partner countries by sharing China’s expertise in railway planning, operation, and management. He expressed hope that the participants would apply the knowledge gained to their respective national developments and serve as bridges and bonds in advancing international cooperation in railway transport.

Participant representative Mr. Apeku Gabriel Ondofa recalled the memorable experiences during the seminar. He noted that the program offered a profound understanding of China’s accomplishments in railway transport and allowed them to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Chinese people. "The Belt and Road Initiative is not only about infrastructure connectivity but also a bridge for people-to-people bonds," he remarked. The participants pledged to bring back the friendship and valuable knowledge to their home countries, contributing to the advancement of their national railway transport sectors.

During the ceremony, Vice Dean Liu Xiaofang and Vice Dean Bai Yun jointly presented completion certificates and commemorative gifts to the participants.
The 10-day seminar was attended by 29 professionals in the railway transport field from seven countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, South Africa, and Vietnam. Through thematic lectures, field visits, and technical discussions, the seminar facilitated experience sharing and cooperative exchanges in railway transport planning, operation, and management among Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, achieving positive training outcomes.
