Monash University 3+2 Joint Education Program Information Session Successfully Holds

In order to cultivate talents with a global perspective, further explore integrated bachelor's and postgraduate education models, and enhance the internationalization of education, BJTU School of Traffic and Transportation held information sessions for the Monash University 3+2 Joint Education Program on the evenings of November 18 and 19, 2024. The sessions were delivered by Dr. Nan Zheng, Associate Professor from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Monash University, and attracted over three hundred students from the School.

At the session, Dr. Zheng extended a warm welcome and gratitude to the attending students. He provided a detailed introduction to Monash University's educational resources, global rankings, and its leading position in engineering disciplines. He also elaborated on the training scheme, curriculum, application requirements, and procedures for the 3+2 program. Monash University ranks among the top universities globally, with a large-scale Faculty of Engineering and strong teaching staff. Its engineering disciplines rank within the global top 40, with several civil engineering-related subjects placed within the global top 50. Students enrolled in this 3+2 program will complete three years of undergraduate study in China followed by two years of postgraduate study in Australia, leading to a bachelor's degree from Beijing Jiaotong University and a research master's degree from Monash University. Subsequently, Dr. Zheng shared insights into the advantages of studying in Australia, how to adapt to life overseas, and experiences regarding career development planning.

Finally, Dr. Zheng addressed students' questions in detail, encouraged them to apply actively, and expressed his hope to welcome them in Melbourne in the future.

These information sessions provided valuable study abroad information and advice for students of BJTU School of Traffic and Transportation, offering more references for their future academic planning. The sessions also further implemented the "Monash University 3+2 Joint Education Program Agreement" signed this past June, strengthening the educational collaboration between the two institutions.
