The Key Laboratory of Big Data Application Technologies for Comprehensive Transportation was officially accredited by the Ministry of Transport on October 30, 2017. It is the only industry-focused key laboratory in the field of comprehensive transportation big data at the university level to have received certification from the Ministry of Transport. The laboratory has identified four key research and development areas: the application system and related standards for comprehensive transportation data resource management, the construction and processing technologies of dynamic big data collection models for comprehensive transportation, monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and early warning technologies for comprehensive transportation based on big data, and a big data-driven management and decision-making platform for comprehensive transportation in urban agglomerations. By conducting research and development in technologies related to the collection, processing, analysis, mining, evaluation, early warning, management, and decision-making of comprehensive transportation big data—covering railways, civil aviation, highways, water transport, urban traffic, rail transit, postal services, and express delivery—the laboratory supports the implementation of the national big data strategy in the field of comprehensive transportation.
The laboratory closely aligns with China's national conditions and the development status and major demands of urban transportation. It integrates the advantageous resources of relevant industries and research institutions in the transportation field, supports the research and development of technologies for big data collection, processing, analysis, mining, evaluation, early warning, management, and decision-making in transportation, and builds and joins innovation networks that support the implementation of the national big data strategy. This accelerates the deep application of big data integration technologies in the field of comprehensive transportation, contributing new momentum to the development of China's new economy.
The laboratory's research team consists of 58 scientific researchers, including 20 with senior professional titles and 16 with associate senior professional titles. The team includes one innovation group recognized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one innovation team recognized by the Ministry of Education, and two outstanding teaching teams recognized by Beijing.
