(3) Program Highlights Established in 1985, this program was selected as a National Characteristic Major in 2007 and was among the first batch of National First-Class Majors in 2019. It is included in the Ministry of Education's "Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers" and has passed the National Engineering Education Accreditation. In 2022, it was selected as one of the first pilot units for the Ministry of Education's Virtual Teaching and Research Section construction.
The program boasts a solid foundation, relying on the National Key Discipline of Traffic and Transportation Engineering. We continuously advance comprehensive program reforms and implement an academic tutor system. Emphasis is placed on cultivating students' innovation capabilities and their ability to solve complex engineering problems in the field, forming distinctive advantages in Urban Traffic and Smart Transportation.
(4) Educational Objectives This program aims to meet the tremendous demand for talent and scientific research in the planning, design, and operation management of China's urban comprehensive transportation systems. Oriented towards major national strategies and industry development needs, it adheres to the philosophy of a "broad disciplinary scope, solid foundation, strong capability, and pursuit of innovation." The goal is to cultivate engineering technical and management talents who possess the ability to undertake traffic engineering projects and the potential to lead industry development.
