Dutch instructor from BJTU - TUD Joint Program delivers in-person lectures at BJTU 2026

Within the BJTU-TUD joint educational program at the School of Traffic and Transportation, Dutch instructor Jialei Ding returned to campus to deliver an in-person course on “Academic Writing and Communication”. The face-to-face classroom interaction created a lively teaching atmosphere, with active engagement between students and the instructor and a strong sense of academic enthusiasm throughout the class.

As a key component of the program, in-person teaching delivered by international faculty reflects the program’s commitment to global engagement and also signals the continued normalization and strengthening of on-campus academic exchange. In class, teacher Ding systematically guided students through core concepts in academic writing and communication, while emphasizing an inquiry-driven approach. Through discussions and case-based learning, students were encouraged to think critically and express their ideas confidently.

Students also demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm for learning. During in-class interaction sessions, they actively asked questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with the instructor. After class, many students continued to approach the instructor to seek advice on academic study, overseas exchange opportunities, and personal development, reflecting strong engagement and motivation.

Students in the program commented: “The teaching approach is very innovative, and the interactive classroom greatly enhances our sense of participation in learning.” “Being able to communicate face-to-face with foreign instructors provides us with a more authentic and profound experience of internationalized education.” The resumption of in-person teaching has not only further strengthened classroom interaction and teaching effectiveness, but also effectively facilitated the integration of Chinese and international teaching philosophies, providing students with valuable opportunities for direct communication with international faculty and for broadening their global perspectives.

The program has prioritized teaching quality as a core objective, continuously fostering the integration of high-quality educational resources from both Chinese and international partners. It has also been committed to enriching course formats and strengthening practice-oriented and globally oriented education. The return of Dutch faculty for on-campus teaching further promotes the exchange and integration of pedagogical approaches and offers students more direct and meaningful opportunities for international academic engagement.

The School will continue to deepen collaboration with its Dutch partner institution, further advance on-campus interactive teaching, and continuously enhance the quality of Sino-foreign cooperative education, with the aim of cultivating transportation professionals with strong global competence and international vision.
